Radio

I worked as a news reporter for the Reveille Radio News during my sophomore year of college. All my newscasts were broadcasted live on 91.1 FM KLSU.

During my senior year, I became involved in LSU Experimental podcast. I interviewed various researchers at LSU and edited their interviews into the final podcast.

Through these experiences, I learned how to communicate science to wide audiences. As I begin medical school in the fall of 2018, I know that this skill will help me to communicate easily with my patients about their symptoms and maladies.

Below, I have included a sample newscast and the news package I created during my time with the Reveille Radio News, and I've included the story I created as a part of LSU Experimental.

Sample Newscast

As a newscaster, I created one news package about the debate surrounding the talks to include women in the United States military draft. I interviewed a US veteran, a current LSU student in the ROTC program, and a professor of Women's Studies. Check it out!

This is my story on Dr. Carol Friedland, an engineer and professor of construction management at LSU. She spoke at LSU's Science Cafe in August 2017 about how to protect your home from floods and high winds. After her presentation, I was able to sit down with her for a quick interview.
